Veteran Students
The University of Chicago is approved by the Illinois Office of Veterans Education and Training for the administration of VA Education benefits to those eligible. Veteran Administration Benefits may be available to qualifying students enrolled in approved programs. Eligible Veterans, their spouses, and children, may qualify to participate in the Montgomery GI Bill® (MGIB)— Chapter 30, Post-9/11 GI Bill®—Chapter 33, Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA)—Chapter 35, Montgomery GI Bill®—Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR)—Chapter 1606, or Reserves Educational Assistance Program (REAP)—Chapter 1607. The program allows approved institutions of higher learning and the VA to partially or fully fund tuition and fee expenses that exceed the established thresholds under the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. Only Veterans (or dependents under Transfer of Entitlement) at the 100% benefit level qualify to utilize the program. Financial Aid Forms required for veteran students:
UChicago Financial Aid Worksheet completed via the applicant’s UChicago Account (please note, UChicago does not accept the CSS Profile or documents submitted through IDOC)
Student (and Spouse, if applicable) 2023 Federal Tax Return (including all schedules) and W-2 forms
Student's (and Spouse, if applicable) 2023 Federal Business tax returns (if applicable) including all schedules. These are required regardless of percentage ownership that parents hold in the business.
2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (School code 001774)
The U.S. Department of Education anticipates the 2025-2026 FAFSA will be available to all applicants on December 1st, 2024.
